Different Industries Have Different Requirements For The Dew Point Of Finished Compressed Air

Compressed air is the second largest power source after electricity, and it is also a process gas source with multiple uses. It has been widely used in various industries. However, the requirements for dew point are different in different industries and processes. It is particularly important to choose the compressed air post-processing equipment that suits you according to the dew point. Risheng Industry will analyze the compressed air dew point requirements of multiple industries to help users better choose the appropriate compressed air post-processing equipment.

Part 1. Steel Industry

In the steel industry, compressed air is usually used for process gas and instrument gas, and the gas consumption is relatively large, but the actual requirements for dew point are not high. In most cases, the pressure dew point of 3~10℃ using a refrigerated dryer can meet the requirements. However, considering that in steel enterprises, there are generally harsh objective conditions on site such as high ambient temperature and poor cooling water conditions. If a refrigerated dryer is used, the dew point of the finished gas often cannot meet the standard. In order to reduce the adverse effects of the finished compressed air not meeting the standard on the production process, many steel enterprises will choose to use adsorption dryers. At present, blast heating regeneration adsorption dryers and compression heat regeneration adsorption dryers have become the first choice for steel enterprises. While stabilizing the dew point of the finished gas, compared with heatless and micro-heat regeneration adsorption dryer equipment, the first two models significantly reduce the consumption of finished gas, greatly reducing the operating costs of users.

Part 2. Automobile manufacturing industry

In the automobile manufacturing industry, compressed air is usually used in instrumentation, pneumatic tools and automobile surface spraying processes. The surface spraying process usually requires the pressure dew point of the finished gas to be guaranteed below -40℃, otherwise it will cause certain troubles in the surface spraying process. Here, it is recommended to use the blast heating regeneration adsorption dryer equipment, which uses the ambient air to continuously heat up to complete the heating regeneration process, so that the dew point of the finished gas is very stable. At the same time, there are also high control requirements for the dust content, oil content, and silicone content of the finished gas.

Part 3. Electronics and semiconductor industries

In the electronics and semiconductor industries, compressed air is mostly used for cutting, purging, and pneumatic tools. The industry generally has high requirements for the dew point of compressed air, especially in semiconductor packaging and manufacturing processes. The dew point of the finished compressed air pressure must be below -70℃, otherwise it will have an adverse effect on the yield of the product. In this case, only the use of blast heating regeneration adsorption dryer equipment combined with good on-site cooling water conditions can achieve the dew point requirement and also play a good energy-saving role.

Part 4. Lithium battery industry

In the lithium battery industry, compressed air is often used in processes such as liquid injection, packaging and instrument gas. Since some finished compressed air is in direct contact with lithium battery materials and battery cells during the production process, there are certain requirements for the quality and stability of the finished gas dew point, which is generally a pressure dew point of -20~-40°C. For process sections with low requirements for finished gas dew point, we can use compression heat regeneration adsorption dryer equipment to meet user needs, and use the heat brought by the centrifuge to fully heat and regenerate the adsorbent; for process sections with high requirements for finished gas dew point, blast heating regeneration adsorption dryer equipment can be used to ensure the stability of the dew point.
In the ternary lithium battery material processing and manufacturing factory, compressed air is mainly used for grinding, purging, transportation and instrument gas processes. In the production process of ternary materials, not only is the pressure dew point of the finished compressed air required to be ≤-40℃, but there is also a content standard for the concentration of CO2. In the sintering process of nickel-cobalt-manganese hydroxide compounds and lithium hydroxide, the finished compressed air is used as the positive pressure conveying power gas source, and its CO2 concentration is usually required not to exceed 5PPM to prevent the raw materials from reacting with CO2 and affecting the product yield.

Part 5. Food and pharmaceutical industry

In the food and pharmaceutical industry, compressed air is often used in the processes of transportation, filling, fermentation and mixing. Some finished compressed air will come into direct contact with food or medicine. Therefore, there are very strict requirements for the dew point of finished compressed air. Once it does not meet the standard, the humid air will pollute the food or medicine, seriously affecting the yield. The food and pharmaceutical industry generally requires the pressure dew point of finished gas to be -20℃, and some processes even require it to be below -40℃. We usually use blast heating regeneration adsorption dryer equipment to achieve this goal. Since the finished compressed air will come into direct contact with food or medicine in some processes, the finished compressed air must also be strictly sterilized.

Part6. Textile and chemical fiber industry
In the textile and chemical fiber industry, compressed air is mostly used in processes such as polyester chip drying, polyester chip melting, spinning, cleaning and transportation. The demand for compressed air is relatively large, and it is a major gas user in the industrial system. However, the industry generally does not have high requirements for the dew point of finished compressed air, usually not higher than the pressure dew point -20°C. In this case, we can choose a compression heat regeneration adsorption dryer to meet the needs of users, which not only effectively utilizes the heat source brought by the air compressor, but also greatly reduces the user's operating costs.

Part7. Petroleum and Chemical Industry

In the petroleum and chemical industry, compressed air is mainly used in processes such as catalysis, cracking, oxidation, transportation and instrumentation. Since the working environment of this industry is not ideal, the dryer equipment is usually installed in an outdoor open-air environment for operation and use. Therefore, users not only have very strict requirements on the safety and protection of compressed air post-processing equipment, but also have high standards for the dew point of finished gas. Generally speaking, the petroleum and chemical industry requires the dew point of finished gas to be between -20 and 40℃. Considering factors such as weather and environment, we usually choose compression heat regeneration adsorption dryer equipment or blast heating regeneration adsorption dryer to meet user needs and achieve dew point requirements.
