The removal process of a compressed air filter involves multiple steps to ensure that the filter can be effectively cleaned or replaced.
First, you need to open the engine hood and confirm the location of the air filter. Usually, the air filter is located on the left side of the engine compartment, above the left front wheel. You can see a square plastic black box with the filter element installed inside.
There are 4 clips around this shell cover, which are used to press the plastic shell on the top of the air filter to keep the air intake line sealed. The structure of the clip is relatively simple. You only need to gently bend the two metal clips upward to lift the entire air filter cover. If the air filter is fixed with screws, you need to select a suitable screwdriver to unscrew the screws on the air filter box, so that you can open the plastic shell and see the air filter inside.
Remove the air filter cover and remove the air filter element. Remove the filter element from the air filter, and use compressed air (a hair dryer can also be used) to blow from the inside to the outside to remove the dust, and at the same time remove the dust inside the air filter shell. When there is no compressed air, you can use the filter element to beat the ground to shake out the dust, and then clean the air filter housing with a damp cloth.
If there is dirt on the filter that is difficult to clean, you can choose to soak the filter in warm water or an appropriate detergent. Depending on the degree of dirt, you can choose the soaking time, usually between 10 minutes and 30 minutes. After the filter is soaked, wipe it clean with a brush or a cleaning cloth.
Blowing with compressed air For some filters, especially those used to filter air, compressed air can be used to clean the grid and filter media. When using compressed air, make sure to wear appropriate goggles and masks to avoid dust and impurities entering the eyes or respiratory tract.
