A desiccant air dryer system is designed to remove moisture from compressed air using adsorption principles. It consists of two towers filled with desiccant materials such as silica gel or activated alumina. The compressed air passes through one tower while the desiccant adsorbs moisture, leaving dry air to exit the system. Meanwhile, the other tower undergoes regeneration where the desiccant is dried by either purging with dry air (heatless regeneration) or applying heat (heated regeneration), ensuring continuous availability of dry compressed air.
